Throughout 2023, ECDC and its partner countries collaborated to strengthen the regional workforce as part of the EU Initiative on Health Security. The goal was to enhance capacities for addressing communicable diseases in both EU enlargement countries and those participating in the EU Neighbourhood Policy (ENP).

With funding from the Africa CDC – ECDC Partnership, Imen Haddad recently participated in an ECDC workshop on infodemic management organised under the EU Initiative on Health Security.

From 5 to 7 March 2025, a technical team from ECDC visited Kosovo to discuss the country’s communicable disease surveillance system.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is preparing for an impactful year in 2025, delivering training sessions, capacity-building initiatives, and enhancing collaboration with European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) partner countries under the EU Initiative on Health Security.

Between 24-28 February 2025, a team of experts from the European Commission, ECDC, EFSA, Epiconcept, the Integrated Quality Laboratory Services (IQLS), along with representatives from two EU Member States visited Serbia to discuss antimicrobial resistance (AMR) within a One Health perspective.

On 11-12 February 2025, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) hosted a workshop of the Cross-agency One Health Task Force, focusing on stakeholder engagement for implementing the One Health approach in Europe.

The second EU Health Task Force (EUHTF) stakeholder meeting gathered representatives from EU/EEA Member States, EU agencies, the European Commission, and partner organisations including the World Health Organization (WHO), Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN), Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) on 18-19 November 2024.
